The Temporary Worker visa allows certain types of temporary workers to enter the UK to satisfy their objectives. Applicants can apply to come to the UK for a maximum period of 6 – 24 months depending on the scheme they are applying under. You can also switch to most other visa categories from within in the UK. We can put together the application on your behalf and ensure that all the requirements of your chosen route are met and evidenced as appropriate in order to avoid a refusal.
The Student route enables those aged 16 and over to study in the UK at a school, college or university that holds a sponsor licence. How long a visa will be granted will be in line with the duration of your course. Students may be able to extend their leave or apply for new leave. Students may work whilst in the UK, this right is restricted to a specified number of hours per week during term time, while full-time employment may be allowed out of term time.
The skilled worker visa route is available to skilled migrant workers with a job offer in the UK or to those already in the UK who want to switch to a new employer. The employer must be a registered sponsor and should be able to offer a skilled position to a non-UK national if they are unable to fill in the role from within the resident labour workforce. The skilled worker visa can be granted for up to 5 years, but the maximum period under this route is 6 years. This visa is a route to settlement in the UK.
Overseas visa nationals can apply for a Visitor visa to visit the UK for the purposes of tourism, business, medical treatment, marriage, transit and permitted paid engagements. Applicants must apply from outside of the UK. Applicants cannot switch whilst in the UK from a Visitor visa to another category of visa. We have experience of preparing successful Visitor visa applications on behalf of our clients. We pride ourselves on the presentation of our applications to the Home Office. You can be assured that your application process will be managed in a professional and organised manner.

The Start-up visa enables overseas entrepreneurs with entry-level business experience to come to the UK to establish an innovative business. This is aimed at those who are developing their business experience, including recent graduates. There is no requirement to have investment funds to secure a Start-up visa. This scheme was introduced in anticipation of Brexit (the UK left the EU at the end of 2020) as a means of encouraging new entrepreneurial ideas and businesses to keep the UK at the forefront of innovation and re-establish the country as a global powerhouse.
A ‘dependant’ can be a spouse or partner or a child under 18. Children over 18 may also be eligible if they are financially dependent on the main applicant or got permission to come to or stay in the UK (‘leave to enter or remain’) on a family visa when they were under 18. We have extensive experience of preparing successful dependant visa applications on behalf of our clients.
Naturalisation is the most common way for adults who were not born British to become British citizens. To apply to naturalise as a British citizen, they will have to fulfil the residency requirements,
and hold Indefinite Leave to Remain/Permanent Residence. They will also need to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the English Language, pass Life in the UK test, be of good character, and have the intention to make the UK their home. The good character requirement is mainly based on previous immigration history and an individual’s criminal history. Although citizenship applications can be complex, our experienced immigration specialists understand the processes, the legal requirements and the issues.
